Brief of History of PHE WMO
In 2011 PHE WMO was officially appointed as oil and gas operator in West Madura, the agreement is effective through 2031.
The history of the field can be traced back to 1967, when City Service signed an Exploration Agreement, which was subsequently continued by a Korean contractor until 2011.
Pace of development of the West Madura field increased after the drilling of new wells up until 1983.
But it was only after 2000 that significant reserves were discovered, including at KE-23B, KE-24, KE-30, KE-39, KE-54, KE-7 and Poleng-C fileds.
With the transfer of operatorship, WMO has to maintain existing production, while making
improvements on all fronts in a systematic manner in order to achieve the level of production targeted by Pertamina Hulu Energi.
Such improvements were achieved through the aggressive exploration and development drilling to maintain the production-decline rate at 50% per year and the production expansion rate at 30%.
These successes were achieved through well-thoughtout and innovative planning and synergizing work motivation in all areas.
